Brian believes in

Workforce Development

Washington County’s economy is strong, but too many residents still face barriers to accessing the training, skills, and career pathways needed for today’s workforce. As local employers seek skilled workers in transportation, trades, technology, and public service, the county must do more to connect youth, veterans, and underrepresented communities to real opportunities. Brian believes workforce development should be proactive, inclusive, and built around partnerships that help residents secure family-sustaining careers while supporting the businesses that power Washington County’s future.

Action Priorities

  • Expand workforce programs for youth, veterans, and underrepresented communities.

  • Strengthen partnerships with businesses, unions, schools, and workforce organizations to create job training and career pathways.

  • Support county employees with professional development, advancement opportunities, and strong workplace standards.

  • Help connect residents to high-demand careers in transportation, skilled trades, technology, and public service.

Community Impact

Washington County has more than 6,500 employers and one of the highest labor force participation rates in Minnesota. Even with a median household income above $110,000, local employers still need skilled workers in key industries. Brian’s plan focuses on connecting residents to opportunity, supporting local businesses, and building a stronger workforce for Washington County’s future.
